Similar but not the same

I wear eye shadow pretty much everyday. I have done since I was in high school and bought a brown shade by 2true with my birthday money. Recently I've noticed all of my eye shadow palettes have similar colours in them. I therefore present my collection of neutrals.

Bottom row L-R: Sleek Storm palette, MUA Undressed

I know these eye shadows may all look similar in colour tone but I honestly believe that they are all different. Or so I have convinced my family who don't understand why I could possibly need more make up.

The E.L.F palette was a bargain I snapped up with my Christmas money. It contains a nice mixture of matte and shimmery shades in quite a range of colours. I personally like the pink toned colours for daytime and the darker ones for a night time. The only issue I have with this palette would be that some colours are better than others in terms of pigmentation. There is one that has a fine glitter running through it that doesn't show up very well whilst most of the other colours are actually pretty good.

MUA Heaven and Earth is a blogger favourite and rightly so I think. It has a good selection of brown shadows that are suitable for all sorts of occasions. The pigmentation is great and these blend really well. I kinda love this.

Sleek Storm palette. I bought this palette a while ago at uni and then tried to bring it home for Christmas. Somehow I lost it on the journey and it wasn't seen for months again. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and my sister discovered this in my old suitcase. I was very happy to be reunited with this palette as it's got some lovely shades in it. I really want to use the dark green colour but I'm yet to find an occasion for it. The other shades are all great and I am definitely glad they're back in my life.

MUA Undressed palette is obviously the rival to the naked palette. I won't bother to compare the two since it's been done a million times. I also don't own the urban decay one so don't feel like I can judge. However I do think the colours are beautiful and I'm sure they will become everyday favourites in the near future.

Wow that was a lot of talking. Who knew there was so much to say about pinky, browny eyeshadows! If I was to recommend just one of these palettes I'd possibly say the Undressed one for shade range and the Sleek one for prettiness. Does anyone else own similar items that only they can see the differences in? I'm sure I'm not the only one.
